Pastor Michael Slonecker, a resident of Somerset, KY, for the past five years, has served at Cornerstone since October 2021. He was saved in 2015 and answered the call to ministry in 2018. Michael served as a staff member at FBC Somerset for two and a half years, a campus minister at Somerset Community College for two and a half years, and a youth pastor at Stony Point Baptist Church for one year. Before joining Cornerstone, he was licensed for pastoral ministry at FBC Somerset in the fall of 2022.

Michael graduated from Asbury University with a dual major in Organizational Management and Instructional Design. He’s continuing his education by pursuing a Master of Divinity in Biblical counseling online with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Carolina Picard, are passionate about local and international missions and evangelism. They’ve served on a Kenya mission group since 2018, planning, fundraising, and traveling to Kenya every other year. Michael is grateful to serve at our church and is excited to train and lead church members in local evangelism and missions projects. We’re excited to see lost people brought to Christ through these endeavors!
